The Nebraska Sports Council Athlete of the Year awards recognize amateur athletes who exemplify the values of sportsmanship, dedication, perseverance, and positive leadership.

Each year, athletes are recognized in the male, female, youth, and senior categories. Recipients are selected based on their participation, sportsmanship, effort, positive attitude, and overall impact as an athlete and role model.

The awards celebrate athletes who demonstrate excellence in their sport while inspiring others through their commitment, character, and passion for competition.
