The mission of the Nebraska Sports Council is to provide quality competition for amateur athletes of all ages/abilities and promoting healthy and active lifestyle choices.
The Nebraska Sports Council conducts nine major events and programs, including the Cornhusker State Games, Lincoln and Omaha Corporate Games, Pumpkin Run and the WellPower Movement. Nebraska Sports Council programs and events currently benefit more than 30,000 Nebraskans annually.
Since 1985, when the Nebraska Sports Council was incorporated, more than 700,000 Nebraskans have participated, and its events have generated more than a billion dollars in economic impact.
The Nebraska Sports Council Endowment Fund, established in April 2023, provides a perpetual revenue stream to ensure that fitness programs like the WellPower Movement remain free of charge.
The Nebraska Sports Council is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, so all gifts to the Nebraska Sports Council Endowment Fund are tax deductible. Pledges of $5,000 or more can be paid over four (4) years.
