Lincoln, Neb (July 19, 2024) —The final weekend of competition in the 2024 Cornhusker State Games (CSG) is set to take place on July 20-21, promising an action-packed conclusion to this year’s event with 36 sports taking center stage.

The Games’ participant count has reached 8,000, showcasing the widespread enthusiasm and support for this annual event. While many sports have already closed their registrations, there are still a few opportunities to join the fun by visiting CornhuskerStateGames.com.

The weekend’s highlight includes Men’s Basketball, which features 323 participants competing at Speedway Sports Complex. The Men’s Gold Division Championship game will once again be broadcast live on News Chanel Nebraska. The event promises intense games and showcases the skills of athletes from across the state.

Another major event is Ice Hockey, with 30 teams and 455 participants battling it out at several locations in Omaha.

The Wrestling competition, featuring 367 participants, will be held at Pius X High School and Beach Wrestling at Spikes Beach Bar & Grille. This event promises thrilling matches and displays of strength and technique across various age groups.

Additionally, the Road Race will see 128 runners competing at Holmes Lake. This event highlights the endurance and determination of participants as they race to the finish line.

Other sports rounding out the weekend include Youth Golf at Jim Ager Memorial Golf Course, Tennis at Woods Tennis Center, Powerlifting at Lincoln Southwest High School, Taekwondo at Lincoln North Star High School, and Youth 3v3 Soccer at the Lincoln Sports Foundation Complex.

The 2024 Cornhusker State Games is a celebrated program of the Nebraska Sports Council and serves as a qualifying event for the State Games of America, which will be held in San Diego.
