Lincoln, Neb (July 12, 2024) —The first weekend of competition in the 2024 Cornhusker State Games (CSG) started today, bringing excitement and energy to the state with action in 45 sports.

CSG Pickleball, boasting its largest turnout ever with 398 players, kicked off today and will continue thrilling matches through Sunday at Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln.
Adult indoor volleyball is another highlight, featuring 47 teams and nearly 300 players competing fiercely on Saturday and Sunday at Lincoln Northeast and Lincoln North Star High Schools.
Adding to the excitement, Wiffle Ball makes its highly anticipated CSG debut at Optimist Youth Sports Complex on Saturday.
Other sports lighting up this weekend include the Adventure Race in Grand Island, 3-on-3 Basketball, Mountain Bike racing, Cycle Tour, Swimming in Fremont, Pocket Billiards, Slow Pitch Softball, Triathlon, and Team Bass Fishing in Crofton. These are just a few of the many thrilling events participants and spectators can look forward to.
The 2024 Cornhusker State Games is a celebrated program of the Nebraska Sports Council and serves as a qualifying event for the State Games of America, which will be held in San Diego.
