Competition Format & Rules
USA Softball rules apply with the following tournament format/rules…
-
- Pool play followed by single-elimination brackets. All pool and bracket games, including Championship games: 70-minute, finish the inning. Pool play games can end in a tie.
- Run rule: 12 runs after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings and 8 runs after 5 innings.
- Bracket seeding is based on: win/loss record, head-to-head play, run differential, runs allowed, runs scored and coin flip if needed.
- Batting Order Rules: Teams in all divisions may bat all players in pool play. 8U and 10U may bat all players in bracket play as well. 12U and older divisions are limited to 10 or 9 batters in bracket games.
- All teams must provide the umpires with a USA-approved ball (Yellow optic cover red stitch 375 lbs Max .44 COR.) prior to the start of each game. A 12” (Yellow optic cover red stitch 375 lbs Max .44 COR.) ball will be used in 12u, 14u, 16u & 18u divisions. An 11” (Yellow optic cover red stitch 375 lbs .44 COR.) ball will be used in the 10u divisions. An 11” RIF (Optic Yellow) ball will be used in the 8u division.
- Umpires are registered with USA softball. Umpire decisions are final and no protests will be allowed.
- There will be minimal warm-up time between games. Teams please be ready to play 30 minutes prior to your listed game time so we can run early if games end early.
