Final Registration Deadline is July 5

Lincoln, NE (July 1, 2022) –Nebraska Sports Council (NSC) officials announced today that Dan Rosenquist, MD, and President Elect of the Nebraska Medical Association, will serve as the Honorary Chairman of the 2022 Cornhusker State Games.

Rosenquist will participate in the Games’ Opening Declaration following the ceremonial caldron-lighting at Opening Ceremonies set to begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 15 at Seacrest Field in Lincoln.

NSC Executive Director Dave Mlnarik said the role of Honorary Chairman is typically reserved for the leader of an organization or company that has supported the Games over a number of years.

“The Honorary Chairman represents the sponsors and volunteers of the Cornhusker State Games, so it is a fitting role for Dr. Rosenquist and much-deserved recognition for the Nebraska Medical Association, one of our platinum-level partners.  The role is especially appropriate given Dr. Rosenquist’s personal experience in the Games,” Mlnarik said.

Rosenquist is a native Nebraskan who has been associated with Columbus Family Practice since 1987. He is President Elect of the Nebraska Medical Association, the Vice Chair of the Nebraska Coalition for Patient Safety and serves on the Board of Directors at Columbus Community Hospital. Rosenquist participated in the Cornhusker States Games in the early years of its existence and coached both of his children’s soccer teams in the 90’s. His interests include hiking and water sports.
